The Kazakh Flag

Ever wondered what this beautiful “Elsa” blue flag (as Avi would put it) means?? It was created in 1992. The blue and gold are preserved (minus red) from the Soviet times. The sun represents life and energy. It is also a symbol of wealth and abundance. The sun’s rays are a symbol of the steppe’s grain which is the basis of prosperity and abundance. The eagle symbolizes the power of the State and people of different Kazakh tribes had the golden eagle on their flags for centuries, representing freedom, power and the flight to the future. The blue color is of religious significance to the Turkic people of the country and symbolizes cultural and ethnic unity. The blue also represents the endless sky and water.  The pattern on the left side represents the art and cultural traditions of the old khanate and the Kazkh people. Super cool fun facts about the flag we now see regularly 😁
